Hello, Blog Readers! It is Saturday, August 14th and tomorrow it will be 5 weeks exactly until we take off for our 35th Anniversary trip to Greece! We are very excited and cannot wait to share our adventures and photos with the blogging world! We'll try not to log every single minute and every single photo...
So far, in preparation, we have new luggage, new passports, a place to stay when we get there, airline tickets and many suggestions of places to go and things to see. We will stay in Athens for 2 days when we first get there to see all the obligatory "ancient stuff". Then we have rented an apartment (called The Tree House - you can look it up on Google to see photos) in the village of Ermioni on the other side of the Aegean from Athens. We will have a car and travel to as many places as we feel like going to around the Aegean Sea - the Epidavros Theatre, island of Hydra, maybe Santorini. That is the extent of our "plan". We like to fly by the seat of our pants and do what we want, when we want. We will shop at the village market, drink ouzo on the beach and visit with the locals. Maybe we'll even learn to play backgammon! We will try new and exotic foods, although I have to say that nary a live octopus will be on my plate, I'm fairly certain. No sea anemones on our plates either. Not gonna happen.
